Brittany Fenwick is a writer, singer, dancer from Western Australia and tonight she shares her talents on Cheeky Tunes Friday Happy Hour with guests speaker James McDonald and young songwriter Cryss Coleman
When did music come into your life?
I’ve been singing since I was a young girl. I grew up singing and dancing with a love for musical theatre.
When did you decide to dive into songwriting?
Songwriting became my safe haven when I couldn’t comprehend what was happening in the world around us. I suppose it was my version of keeping a journal.
More often than not art is very personal. Some of us struggle to break free from our own inner critics to set our our free. How was this process for you in the release of your EP?
The songs on my upcoming EP were all written as a way of processing a different struggle or moment in time. I decided to share them because showed my partner some of my songs and he said that other people needed to hear them.
If you could summarise it in one like, what do you feel is your core message to the world, Brittany?
My hope is when anyone listens to a song I’ve written that they feel less Alone for a little while and that my songs can become something of a safe place for others too.
And at last: what's your favourite collection?
